"Asbestos cancer sufferers forced to pay for treatment
A new report has found up to half of Australian victims of asbestos-related cancer are unable to get critical treatment, while others are being fully subsidised for the same therapy. The Allen Consulting Group says some patients in New South Wales get fully subsidised chemotherapy, while as many as 400 other patients in different parts of the nation miss out. Asbestos Diseases Foundation of Australia president Barry Robson has told the ABC's AM program that the inequities need to be fixed."
